We are celebrating! It’s the launch of Dundonald Castle Community Heritage and Education Project.

Join us at ‘Minstrels and Mayhem’, a family musical event on Saturday. Entertainment from local children’s groups and a mix of acoustic, folk and pop from a fantastic line-up of modern minstrels, including popular Ayrshire band, Memphis. Free ticketed event with licenced bar.

At Sunday’s ‘Once Upon A Time’ summer fete, there’s something for everyone. Immerse yourself in engaging archaeology and history activities, meet an Owl, take a costumed pony ride, or visit our many stalls and bouncy castle. Food and drinks available for purchase.

Dundonald Highland Games is one of Ayrshire’s premier cultural events. It is unique in capturing traditional Scottish heritage and strong community spirit within the picturesque setting of Royal Dundonald Castle. Admission to the event is completely free and offers a whole range of entertainment and activities including a traditional highland games with pipe band contest, drum majors, solo piping, highland dancing, battle re-enactment, heavy events, side stalls, massed pipe bands display and street parades.

Dundonald Games Week takes place during the week leading up to the highland games and includes a treasure hunt, 10km road race, kids’ fun run, pet show and 7-a-side football competition.

The Clamjamfry Music and Art festival is an affordable, family friendly, event that truly offers something for everyone. Our programmed music performances encompass everything from Folk, Ska, Hip-Hop, Reggae, Electornica and everything in between. Aside from music we will have a dedicated spoken word tent, yoga class, workshops, yurt camping, gourmet food trucks, a well stocked bar and various art instillations dotted around the festival site.

The festival will be held at Annick Lodge in Irvine, surrounded by trees and encompassed by the river Annick. In the design of the festival site we felt it important to preserve the feeling of space, creating a camping trip with twist!

Following the success of bringing The Scottish international Airshow (TSIA) to Ayr, with the support of South Ayrshire Council and a partnership with TSIA, an idea was born to have a weekend of inspiring and inclusive running events.

The events are suitable for all abilities, from beginners to the elites and The Lang Scots Mile is ideal for wheelchair athletes too. With a flat course in both events we see this a perfect opportunity to set a PB and/or set a new time in a new distance event (The Lang Scots Mile).

Saturday 26th August: Lang Scots Mile Races: The Saturday events will be split into various races to make the distances an appropriate challenge at a level for all to succeed. The races will range from the Lang Scots Mile Dash events for the youngest runners, to Buggy Dashes for families and timed events for colts, adults and elite runners.

Sunday 27th August: Ayr Running Festival 10K: A fast, flat and inclusive event. Whatever your goal, take part with family and friends in this superb event over a fantastic route in an ideal location.

The Millport Country Music Festival is back bigger and better than ever in 2017. For the first time ever, under the cover of a huge 3,000 capacity concert venue and featuring the best of British and American country music artists including Mark Chesnutt, The Shires, Ashton Lane, David Ray, Adley Stump, Morgan Frazier and many more…
