The Palace Theatre’s ‘Purrfect’ Family Panto. With last year’s production of Beauty and the Beast being described as having “ticked so many boxes that there is no room for them all” (Cumnock Chronicle) the Palace Theatre and Imagine Theatre are planning another spectacular show this festive season with the exciting rags to riches tale of Dick Whittington.

Meet our hero Dick Whittington and his feline friend, who set off from Kilmarnock to seek their fortune in London. Featuring all the classic elements you’d expect from the Palace panto, including spectacular sets and costumes, amazing special effects, fabulous songs and dances and bags of slapstick fun.

Cinderella lives a life of drudgery, bullied by her horrible Ugly sisters Hayacinth and Petunia. Her muddled and confused father, Baron Hardup is powerless to intervene (he’s more scared of them than she is!) and her only comfort is her pal Buttons! Prince Charming is holding a ball to meet his bride to be – can this be the chance that Cinders has been waiting for? Despite the best efforts of her two malicious Ugly Sisters, Cinderella shall go to the ball with the help of her Magical Fairy Godmother! Will Cinderella meet her handsome prince, will good overcome evil….

All will be revealed in this spellbinding pantomime full of music, magic and mayhem, special effects, breath taking sets, loads of laughs and lavish costumes. Come along and join in the fun at our Dick Whittington Pantomania Day! You will receive a backstage tour of the Dick Whittington set, get the opportunity to meet and greet some of the characters, try on some colourful panto costumes and learn some theatrical make-up tips.

To finish off, you’ll create your own slapstick routines, sing songs and explore the principal characters. Suitable for children aged 8-12 years.

If you’re going to see the show after taking part in Pantomania Day you will receive a 50% discount for the evening performance on Sat 9th Dec. Cost: £12.

Santa is coming to Burns Cottage with some wise friends this Christmas. You can spend some time with one of Santa’s elves writing your Christmas letter on a parchment using traditional quills and ink. One of the elves will then take you to meet Santa’s feathery helper for you to give them your message to take back to his workshop. Santa will be waiting to meet you in the Cottage kitchen but you may have to wake him up – he has been known to have a wee snooze while he’s here!

Visit includes – Entry to Burns Cottage. Letter writing craft activity. Photo souvenir. Gift from Santa Juice and shortbread for the little people. Tea/coffee or mulled wine and mince pies for the big people.

Santa has given his elves the weekend off! Come and join them at their tea party before they have to get back to the workshop and get busy making presents.

SANTA & HIS REINDEER

The Cross, Kilmarnock Town centre

SANTA & HIS REINDEER

Santa and his team of beautiful Reindeer are visiting Kilmarnock on Sunday 10th December from 12.30 - 15.30. Arriving at The Cross on his sleigh Santa will be welcomed to Kilmarnock by a choir from Centrestage and Provost Todd who will introduce two lucky children who will ride with Santa in his sleigh as it travels along King Street.

Centrestage choir are going to be adding to the Christmas Magic with their medley of Christmas songs.A special Reindeer pen will be set up at The Cross for the Reindeer to rest prior to flying off to their next destination. Santa will then take some time in the Burns Mall to meet local children and collect their Christmas letters.
